Chania - Venice of Greece

Chania is the second largest city and it is situated on the west coast. The city of Chania has undoublffully preserved its historical character unchangeable over the year. The Venetian harbor, Minares, the narrow streets of the old town, Firkas fortress Venizelos bith town, Halepa with its old mansions, the National garden are some of the many sights of the city.

Climate
The climate is very mild in Autumn and winter the winds are South and southeast whereas summer is very pleasant with the light winds. From March to October you can enjoy swimming in the sparkly clean water which traditionally deserves the blue flags.

Airports
There are two big airport in Heraklio and in Chania. Daily domestic and international flights.

Ports
Crete has two big ports: one in Heraklio and another in Chania. Transportation of food products, vehicles and passengers.

Highways
A major highway connecting East with West Crete.

Hospitals
Medical centers and hospital units accommodate thousands of patients on a daily basis.

Cretan cuisine
Famous Worldwide for its unique taste in food and the use of biological products is the Cretan cuisine. Kalitsounia, saliggaria, pilafi, tsigariasto, chorta are same of the traditional dishes you can enjoy in the taverns.

Education
There is a high standard in education. There are a university and a technical university in Crete.
